OPTIFAST is a 26-week program that utilizes a full meal replacement plan that transitions to self-prepared everyday meals. You can benefit from pre-portioned and calorie-controlled servings, quick preparation, high-quality nutrition, and freedom from having to make food choices.

It is a medical weight loss program that monitors your progress towards better health. Personal Primary Care will work with you to implement OPTIFAST meal replacements into your weight management program to help you lose weight and stay healthy.

Personal Primary Care utilizes a Medical Body Composition Analysis (mBCA) scale that provides an in-depth reading of key components that affect your overall body weight. The non-invasive analysis only takes 17 seconds, and you'll receive an easy-to-read analysis that informs you of where your health stands. All you have to do is stand on the scale!

The mBCA scale measures your fat mass, total body water, visceral adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and more. These measurements will be incorporated into your personalized weight loss program. They can help us set and reach your weight loss goals because we have a base analysis of your weight, height, and overall health.

The field of medications to treat the chronic disease of obesity is exploding, and we have many new medications that can work along with lifestyle modifications to help with weight management and weight loss. These include Contrave, Qsymia, Phentermine, Metformin, Topamax, Belviq, Saxenda, and several new medications to manage type 2 diabetes.

Also you might be inadvertently on medications that cause weight gain or increase your risk of getting obese. We will work with you and your health care providers to identify these medications and replace them with weight neutral medications when and if appropriate.

Weight loss varies between individuals. We create custom weight loss plans for each of our patients, so end results of weight loss will depend on your goals. Speak to us today at 413-787-2575 to find out what results you can expect.

Yes, weight loss has huge health benefits for diabetic patients. Some patients are even able to discontinue diabetes medication (ex. Insulin) through appropriate weight loss and exercise.

Personal Primary Care works with you through lifestyle management, nutritional management, and behavioral therapy to teach you healthy habits that will allow you to retain your weight loss even after you have left our program. We'll work with you on creating healthy life habits through watching what you eat, exercising, and getting enough sleep at night. Weight loss is a journey, and it's important for you to keep up with what you learned during the program.

Personal Primary Care will look at your medical history and risks of any chronic diseases, what medication you're currently taking, how often you exercise, what your eating habits are, and any other factors you think would be relevant to your weight loss. It's important to look at the big picture and see what lifestyle changes can be made.
